The Thoughtful Gift That Lasts a Lifetime

Hannah’s Wedding Gift, Wedding Bouquet Painting , oil painting, 12 x 16, created in 2014

10 years ago a dear friend Hannah asked if I could create a custom painting to give as a wedding gift. We talked about a variety of different options and we came up with a wedding bouquet painting. At the time, this wasn’t a thing, but now 10 years later, I’ve see several artists on Etsy.

Hannah snapped several photos of her friend’s wedding bouquet and sent them over to me and sent over this message: ” her favorite color is lavender. So those little hearts that you see- she bought an old pride and prejudice book and punched out hearts and threw them on the tables. So sweet! That’s her favorite book. So maybe you could paint the bouquet and put those around it somehow? Her cake had little purple flowers on it too. ”

From there I got to work, I created this piece on a 12 x 16″ canvas in oils. The final painting was framed in a silver frame and Hannah presented it to her friend about 8 weeks after the wedding. The story ended with a lovely message from the bride saying how much she absolutely loves her wedding gift and how very thoughtful her friend Hannah was to commission this piece.

Wedding Bouquet Painting – A Mother’s Love Story

Custom Wedding Bouquet Painting, pinks, corals, yellow flowers and succulents, 16 x 20″ Oil painting, 2018

Juanell, the mother of the bride, reached out to me via email with a heartwarming request. She wanted to commission a wedding bouquet painting as a Christmas gift for her daughter, a year after her wedding. Juanell shared with me her daughter’s deep affection for her wedding bouquet—a stunning arrangement of pink, orange, and yellow flowers accented with green succulents, adding a unique twist to the traditional bouquet. To capture the essence of the wedding day, Juanell requested a beach background, as the ceremony was held by the shore.

I got to work creating this piece on a 16 x 20″ canvas. It was finished a month before the holidays and I included a package of 10 note cards featuring the wedding bouquet painting. Here’s what Juanell had to say…

Sean reached out to me through email, seeking a special gift for his wife on their first wedding anniversary—a custom wedding bouquet painting. He graciously shared several photos of the bouquet from various angles, allowing us to select the one where the bouquet rested against a slate background. We both agreed that this backdrop would beautifully complement the earthy cool tones of the slate, enhancing the soft flow of the floral design, including the blush pink roses and petite lavender wildflowers.

After meticulously crafting the painting, I took great care in packaging it for shipment. I secured it snugly within an Airfloat Artwork Shipping box, ensuring that it would reach its destination safely, ready to delight Sean’s wife on their anniversary.

And his final words, ” She loved it! I’m her hero!”

In conclusion, custom wedding bouquet paintings are more than just art—they’re tokens of love, memories, and cherished moments frozen in time. From the vibrant hues of the blooms to the carefully chosen backgrounds that reflect the essence of the wedding day, each painting encapsulates the beauty and emotion of the occasion.

As an artist, it’s incredibly fulfilling to play a part in preserving these fleeting moments and transforming them into lasting treasures. Whether gifted by friends, mothers, or spouses, each painting tells a unique love story—a story of friendship, maternal love, or the enduring bond between partners.

In a world where time seems to move faster than ever, these custom paintings serve as reminders to slow down, savor the beauty around us, and celebrate the love that enriches our lives. So whether it’s a wedding gift, anniversary surprise, or a gesture of affection on Mother’s Day, consider the timeless elegance of custom wedding bouquet paintings—a gift that truly lasts forever.
