If you’re planning a fall wedding in Connecticut and want to capture the magic in a truly unique way, a live wedding painting offers a timeless and meaningful keepsake. In October, I had the joy of painting Lauren and Trystan’s beautiful ceremony at Crystal Peak in Winchester, CT—a venue nestled in the heart of the Litchfield Hills.
Their outdoor ceremony took place on the upper lawn, surrounded by peak fall foliage in glowing shades of gold, orange, and red. The crisp autumn air and warm sunlight created the kind of atmosphere artists dream about—perfect for both celebrating and painting.
As their live event painter, I set up during the ceremony and captured a joyful, heartfelt moment on canvas. It was an honor to preserve this special day in paint—something Lauren and Trystan will cherish for generations to come.
Throughout the day, I had the pleasure of painting live, capturing the joy and energy of their wedding as it unfolded. From the moment Lauren walked down the aisle, beaming with happiness, to the cheers of family and friends as they made their grand exit, the scene was pure magic—filled with movement, emotion, and love. These fleeting moments are what I strive to preserve in each brushstroke.
A Joyful Celebration Filled with Personal Touches
After the ceremony, the celebration moved indoors, where the reception was full of lively dancing and amazing music from their DJ. One of my favorite details? They had an ice cream truck outside after dinner! It was such a fun and creative touch, and the guests absolutely loved it.
Speaking of guests, everyone I met was so kind and welcoming. I always love chatting with people while I paint—it makes the experience even more special. Hearing their excitement and seeing their reactions as the painting came to life is one of my favorite parts of being a live wedding painter.
Including Their Beloved Dogs
One of the things I love most is incorporating pets into wedding paintings. Often, the couple’s furry friends can’t attend the wedding, so I paint them in from reference photos. But this time, Lauren and Trystan’s two dogs were there in person, part of the celebration! It was such a heartwarming moment to see them by their side, and I knew right away they had to be included in the final painting.
This piece captures the essence of their perfect fall wedding—the love, the joy, the laughter, and, of course, their two beloved pups.
